I am writing this to warn other consumers about the persistent incompetence and lack of accountability at Safford Hyundai Fairfax. My experience has been a series of major operational errors and complete communication breakdowns that have been ongoing since late January.
Initially, this dealership provided me with the WRONG vehicle. It took them weeks to realize their mistake, which required a car swap—a clear sign of a total lack of operational oversight from the start.

Very attentive and helpful. Appreciated their prompt communication and quick service once the parts arrived.
Servicing went well; communication I'd rate a 3. I got texts after I showed up in person to check on status, after a 3-1/2 hour wait. I finally succeeded in having Derek show me how the iQ charger works.

I already filled out the survey No updates were ever given to me. I waited 5 hours at a starbucks for an oil change and tire rotation. I had to call to get an update. The service center seemed overbooked or understaffed. Poor customer service.
My service appointment was handled efficiently and professionally. I was greeted promptly, and kept well informed about the progress with my car.
Extremely poor communication. I had to call and leave messages only to not get calls back. The worst part was that I was also told two conflicting things about my car. First they found a problem. Then there was no problem.
Don was fantastic. He went above and beyond in taking care of everything I could possibly need. He explained all my options and the costs. He stayed late to help me get the paperwork done. And has been wonderful helping me get acquainted with my new car
Everything was great, except the car was really dirty. I believe they used to wash the cars after service, so I'm guessing that wasn't available because of the construction. Regardless, irrigation would been nice to have mentioned it to me. This is the type of thing that leaves a bad impression, particularly because it's the last thing before going home. Jorge was very professional and very kind and friendly he was also very knowledgeable and suggestive
Service was completed, but rotated tires received no additional air pressure - all remained at 28/29 which was 6-7 lbs psi low... also, no communication regarding when car was ready for pick up
The rep at the dealer provided me with the best help to get my car resolved and ordering the parts I needed

Things went about as well as I'd hoped. Josh and team were able to save me some money. I do wish that there was a lounge area, though.
Didn't answer the phone when discussing pricing. Would only text. Piecemealed the pricing instead of providing the total cost for a full picture of service.

Dereck was rude and condescending when customer expressed dissatisfaction. Jorge Dismissed customer concerns; customer had to asked several times to push to find the problem. Failed to provide timely updates so that the customer can make arrangements while not having the vehicle.
Exceptional experience with Abbas and Jenni! Purchased our family car, and I can’t say enough great things! From start to finish, process was smooth, transparent, and genuinely enjoyable. They were knowledgeable, EXTREMELY patient, and took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for—never once making me feel pressured.

Great customer service, but the shuttle service needs more help, I waited about 40 minutes for a ride, then had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get to my destination since other customers needing the shuttle service too.
The experience was a little hectic due to the ongoing construction. I got the sense that everybody was doing their very best with a bad situation. I recently had some work done ( on my daughter's car) at Stafford Mazda and the entire experience was much much better Hopefully, that will be the case when the construction is complete
This was a very mixed experience.
The initial part of the process was frustrating and poorly handled. I was given a written commitment regarding my trade-in, provided the requested documentation in advance, and then drove over an hour from Maryland with my wife and kids to complete the deal — only to be told in person that the documentation was suddenly “the wrong type” and the agreement would not be honored. That should have been caught before asking a customer to travel, and it caused a lot of unnecessary stress and wasted time.

The maintenance experience was professional and good. I also received good updates on the status The only thing I didn't like was the charge for using a credit card was not clear until I was picking up my car. Had I known in advance I would have brought a check. The fee was a substantial amount due to the work I had done.
Great service from the staff that helped me with my new car. One of the best costumer service I have experience in a dealership in a while. Lery from sales department went beyond while trying to find a car the perfect car for me.

Great staff that they have here, Super friendly and fast service. I’ve worked and been a customer at multiple dealerships and this is one of my best experiences. We had a problem with a service at the dealership before we went on a long trip. We were able to nurse the vehicle through the trip and get it back to the dealer, who remedied the situation at no additional cost. We own three cars of this make that will all continue to be serviced by this dealer. Value is important but value without integrity means no customer loyalty. You’re integrity has earned our continuing business.
I’ve purchased two cars from this dealership and have five Hyundais. I’ve also gotten family and friends to purchase Hyundais in the past. I’ve had some truly amazing experiences with Hyundais dealerships—the last let me know that I need to locate a new one to work with moving forward. Truly disappointing.

The Service advisors don't explain what was wrong with the car and what they changed or how they fixed the issues. They say they would call back but they don’t. Very unprofessional.
The service department is poorly managed. Dropped my car off at 645am on a Friday, got a phone call at 12:30 to approve basic work…nothing had been done at this point. Service was done quickly. An issue was found, and I received video showing details on my phone. I approved the extra work and it was done quickly and at a fair price.

I was disappointed in the service I received. It was hard to get someone on the phone, I often left messages and never got a call back. I was given a time for pick up and the car was not ready for over an hour after that projected time. Then the inspection had not been completed as requested. I was told someone would contact me this weekend and that failed to occur. This level of service will make me seek elsewhere for my next car and dealership.

Went for a standard oil change. Next day while driving, car alerted that engine oil was low. Checked and there was very little oil inside. They forgot to put the oil in. Had car towed and wasted a whole Saturday waiting for tow truck pick up car. Do better!

I have been buying Hyundais for 20 plus years and have always had my car serviced at Fairfax Hyundai. I can always get a quick appt when needed. Josh the service advisor is top notch. He keeps me informed, is very knowledgeable and explains things so I understand. I recently bought a car from another dealer (only because they had the color) and quickly found out they did not compare to Fairfax Hyundai. Will be taking my car there from now on.
Been dealing with Don since 2008, this is our 6th vehicle we bought through him. We won't deal with any other dealer unless he's the salesman we deal with. You need to keep him around.

He’s thorough, friendly, and is always able to answer any questions. I also appreciate Alix Webb stepping in during my last appointment to help me out when Josh was unavailable at one point. She’s always someone who’s consistently excellent to work with. Although they’re going through a major renovation, they’ve figured out a way to make dealing with them quite easy.

Able to make an appointment for an oil change, unlike in the past, and it took only one hour and 10 minutes. Impressive

The dealership is under construction and it is quite chaotic there. I have a hard time hearing the Service guy that was signing me in, I ended up paying a bill that was almost double what I was expecting. I did enjoy the shuttle service to and from my home.

The worst communication ever. If my car wasn’t under warranty still, there is a zero percent chance I would bring my car here still. I have never received a call to update regarding the status of work, only getting answers when I’ve called multiple times. This past week, after I called twice, our car was ready.. great! Then my husband goes to pick it up, they can’t find it, then they are telling us it’s still not done. We picked up the car, but what a headache and what absolutely poor customer service.

They forgot to change power steering fluid and forgot to check tire pressure, 3 of our 4 tires needed air and I had to pull the car back in to get it completed properly. Took us an additional 45 minutes after paying for the car and then was told to wait and have the power steering fluid changed after the first of the year.
I had a question about the recommended section of my bill; was it something that was done or should be done next time. The female receptionist seemed agitated, told me I got a call and those services were rendered, and then pushed me the invoice and said I should go ask someone else who helped me.
